CHARLIE SPENCER CLARK STARS ALONGSIDE GEORGINA REILLY AND WILSON BETHEL IN “MATCH ME IF YOU CAN

If you’ve seen Charlie Spencer Clark acting in a movie or TV show, you already know what an immense talent he is. What some of us may not be aware of, however, is that besides his well- earned reputation as a brilliant thespian, he also does standup comedy every chance he gets. He is not funny – he is hilarious, and if you are lucky enough to snag some tickets to one of his shows you had better bring an extra shirt, or at the very least, a towel. The shirt is to change into if the towel can’t do the job of drying off the drink you will spill on yourself because you will be laughing so hard at this very funny man. In fact, he is known by his peers in the comedy scene as the funny lad for his live standup and for playing comedy roles in movies and TV.

Well, what does one do with a “Funny Lad” in the entertainment industry? Producers, writers and directors are all in agreement that his special skills should be shared with the world. So, they put him in movies with great comic scripts and surround him with other acting professionals to guarantee his success and to make audiences in Europe and the states laugh their heads off. His most recent outing in the movie business is in a cleverly written and directed film called, Match Me If You Can.

It’s a story about what happens when a female computer nerd is rejected by an online dating service as “unmatchable.” She then declares war on the dating service and becomes a reluctant spokeswoman for all the frustrated singles out there. Problem is: The dating service swears they didn’t reject her. That, of course, is a major plot point in the film and we would very much like to but apparently, we have been asked to not give away any spoilers. We will tell you, though, that the character who is the programmer and mastermind behind the dating service, wants to know why the angry woman is trashing his company, so he sets up a chance run-in with her. This produces an awkward chain of events that leaves them both feeling an undeniable spark of attraction for each other. Charlie Spencer Clark plays the role of Marco Mason and the film also stars Georgina Reilly and Wilson Bethel. Match Me If You Can was written by Betsy Morris and helmed by Marian Yeager.
