New York’s favorite Nina Cuso was born and raised in Los Angeles to single mom Michelle with no siblings.
Here are some fun facts about her:
In 2012, Cuso graduated from Wherry Academy, where she was captain of the cheerleading team. Major influences in her work come from The Hypnodrome Theatre in San Francisco where she was a professional actor, meanwhile sparking her interest and talent in costume design, later working at The American Conservatory Theatre in her teens.
Following high school, she moved to New York City to focus on her studies and fashion design career, while acting on the side making appearances in Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Ocean’s 8. Cuso studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design beginning in the fall 2012 but suspended her studies to focus on her career multiple times while working stints at Vogue Magazine and Elle Magazine, when not styling or acting.
In 2016, Cuso made appearances in the reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians. In February 2018, Cuso went by her last name as an abbreviation to create a ready-to-wear collection with JXY. The collection introduced the “cobblestone dress”, a new design concept which adhered to the faux leather policy held by the Chelsea Piers, Pier 59 Studios, an Official New York Fashion Week venue. The label launched with embellished hoodies, structured blazers with crystallized embellishments, and tailored high slits. Cuso’s “soft yet edgy pieces, from slip dresses to leather fringe coats” emerged as defining principles. Nowadays Cuso designs for her eponymous label Nina Cuso and lives in Tribeca where she can walk to her design studio, office, or the Soho House lounge.
