I’m an avid online clothing shopper, and with the rise of e-commerce there are some definite perks to buying apparel (and other cute accessories) from the comfort of your bed! My favorite niche is the variety of Instagram boutiques!
However, there are some off-putting CONS that come with online retail. 1. Restrictive Refund Policies: Most of our favorite online clothing stores will NOT give you a refund for your items. 2. Ridiculous Complaint Resolution/Ineffective Communication: Most online clothing stores take forever and a day to even figure out what your issue is, and sometimes you just flat out get ignored. 3. No Exchanges: See this is the one that gets me… You pretty much have ONE shot at correctly guessing your size (and we all know that the sizing guides are extremely variable and unhelpful). 4. Unrealistic models/images: Y’all know most of are not shaped like Fashion Nova models!!! And we don’t have that good lighting either, so when we do get the item it’s not even CLOSE to what we imagined! (oh yea and no refunds or exchanges remember? smh.) All of these cons forced me to re-imagine how online clothing shopping SHOULD be; a community of real buyers who keep it 100%.
That’s how I came up with the idea of a platform that encourages the existing market of online shoppers (particularly millennial buyers on Instagram) to make valuable exchanges with way less restrictions and way more VALUE for your purchase. So for the next few days I aim to find at least 2000 online shoppers willing to put forth $5 towards a better way to get what they want out of online clothes shopping.
