An Exclusive Interview with Recording Artist StaJe

First of all please introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello I’m StaJe (S-T-A-G-E)

Which famous musicians do you admire?
I rock to a lot of musicians. Famous or not. Not really anyone specific I listen to more than the other. I will say I’m always interested in hearing Rihanna! She’s just my ultimate crush anyways.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Truth! No cap! No flex! All true stories and I wouldn’t haven’t any other way. I believe all music should represent you. It ultimately catches up with you anyways.

We really loved your track “Keisha”. It must be getting a good response?
Yeah! Very happy with how this track ended up making noise. I didn’t create it thinking it would. Just told a real story and my own way and we are where we are today with it. Songs on the billboard charts! That’s just insane. I let family and friends hear it before I released it and they all rocked to it. But I wasn’t thinking that the world would! You know how your family and friends gas you up anyways. The success had been crazy.

Any plans of releasing a music video of the track?
Music video for Keisha is releasing August 14, 2020

After working as a ghostwriter you have finally written for yourself. Writing your own song must be a good feeling?
I wrote for many artists for a few years. It was how I made my living for a while. Being able to just focus on myself freely has been great. I’ve never been able to do that till now and it’s just so less challenging to create stories that are true to me.

Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming show?
I’ve performed in Los Angeles multiple times, Tallin Estonia, Atlanta GA, and a few small cities in California. Since coronavirus has forced us to pretty much stay off stages it has stagnated the hopes I had of performing in big venues this year. The Forum! It’s a must I perform here. Coachella! I don’t really have a least. I think performing in front of 20 people is the same as 1000s. We are working on a tour for next year. Will be opening for your favorite artist on many occasions but surely will be working on my solo shows as the year comes to an end.

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your entertainment career?
Selling cars! Made great money. 6 figure guy for years selling Mercedes-Benz. Just didn’t have my heart in it.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
Huge impact! You got so many artists cappin their lifestyle and their gangsta card. Everybody gangsta until you run into. There’s a few that are legit but the internet just gave many people who aren’t about what they talk about. I don’t talk about murdering nobody because I’ve never done so! Also have artists the ability to fabricate their streaming numbers and YouTube plays. Just all fake! 1,000,000 views on their YouTube and Spotify but can’t bring 10 people to their shows. Just honestly gave the average artist a way in.
