SWEDISH ACTRESS MICHELLE NORDLANDER
It’s always nice to get a compliment from the director you’re working with and we’re sure the seasoned actress Michelle Nordlander gets them all the time. Christopher Oh, her director on her most recent project, WitchHaven PI, had this to say about one of our favorite Swedish actresses who now lives and works in Los Angeles: “Michelle is a pleasure to work with. She always brings a positive and professional attitude to the set and is absolutely lovely to be around. The way she brought Atara to life is more than we ever hoped for. I remember watching her at the audition and I knew immediately that she would be perfect for the role.”
Atara, of course, is a time traveling witch that Michelle portrays in the TV series, which was released in April. WitchHaven PI is the story of a young girl named Emilia who travels into the future (2018) to California in order to avoid the brutal Salem witch hunt of the 1690s. While in Los Angeles, Emilia meets Atara Wardwell, a malevolent witch from the past who traveled forward in time to take care of some unfinished business.
Michelle loved the role of Atara. She said that it was the first time she had the opportunity to play a villain and she found it challenging. Since she is usually cast in comedies, sweetheart roles and the occasional dumb blond part, playing an evil witch who casts spells and is mean to people was pretty refreshing. It also let her get in touch with that part of human nature, which can be rather frightening when confronted. Atara forced Michelle to up her game and jump into a persona that was literally quite the opposite of her in real life. But hey…that’s what acting is all about.
Michelle has quite a resumé and she has done so much since she moved from Stockholm to Southern California. She truly had a blast everyday on the set of WitchHaven PI and she said that the crew and the rest of the cast were all amazing to work with. WitchHaven PIis produced by Validus Productions, the same company that produced the extremely popular web series Life As a Mermaid, which had over 3.2 million views on YouTube and starred Taylor Huff. Michelle Nordlander has several projects in the works and we can’t wait to see them.
