WRITERS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Behind every literary industry, there are amazing writers pushing that industry forward. Yet some of these amazing writers aren’t given the recognition they deserve. African literature has developed over the years, and that development was brought by these writers. They upgraded the typical African stories to stories that has to do with our contemporary society.
One of these writers is Orezi Saint Emamezi. She was born on December 23, 1989, in Delta State, Nigeria, and she’s the founder of Elmore Christo kids Club. She is a law graduate of American University, Turkey.
Her book, Victoria, is about a high school girl from a struggling family. Her father is a lazy man who cares less about his responsibilities to the family, while her mother is quite troublesome, both at home and in the community. Victoria decides to take the bull by the horn in order to restore the dignity of her family.
What makes this book, Victoria, interesting, is its ability to capture our society and the struggles most young people go through. It paints the picture of growing up with no love at home, and the effects it has on young people. On the other hand, Victoria had to take things up by herself and decide her future and that of her family.
This book is a must read for everybody, especially young people.
There’s so much to learn from it.
