Prohibition ends today!

Nobody knows exactly when our Moonshine was born, because the Anderson family recipe has only been passed on orally for generations. What is certain is that the recipe was first discovered at the end of the 19th century, written on the last pages of a cookbook. Actually unnecessary, because in the Andersons’ circle one only used experience when burning.

In 1920, the Volstead Act came into force, which was supposed to curb alcohol consumption. Unfortunately, however, it led to the illegal production of alcohol and the increasing consumption of the same. As gangs grew in power and the bags filled with the proceeds of the alcohol sold underhand, the Chicago spirit shouldn’t gather dust.

During this time our drink was quietly burned in the darkness of the night and the forest. Only the moon lit up the night and that’s how our then popular Moonshine got its name. After the prohibition came to an end 13 years later and the once great demand for black-branded alcohol decreased, the Moonshine became quiet again. But its enjoyment remained with the Andersons.

And now we come into play. We want to give you the unique Chicago Spirit experience without prohibition.
