Ludovico Torri Continues On His Path To Continued Success!

We recently caught up with talented award-winning actor and producer Ludovico Torri, to talk about some of his career highlights and upcoming projects. Here is what he had to share with the readers:

Please give us an introduction as to when you first got into the entertainment industry:

My name’s Ludovico Torri, I’m from Carrara, Italy and I live between Rome and Los Angeles. I started acting when I was 10 at a theatre company in Florence with Andrea Battistini and his company that has been at the top of Italian and world innovation for years – participating in numerous international festivals including: Spoleto, Mittelfest, Lille, Madrid, Lisbon, Mexico City, Moscow, Cologne. After that started to act in different short films in New York and then Los Angeles, in numerous short films. My main influence in becoming an actor was the idea of freeing myself and being able to express who I was, without really saying it. The idea that you could become the person that you always dreamt of.

Do you feel like you have grown a lot more as an artist over the years, through your experiences?

I have grown so much. I know my flaws and my strengths and now I have the tools to open my little tool box and use them as needed. Working with so many amazing directors and actors has given me the power to get to know myself and the business in such a deep way.

What has been one of your favorite projects to work on so far?

My favorite project so far has been “The Fabulous Life of Mr. Fabulous” that recently won “Best American Comedy” at the London Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival which states “We had a great London-Worldwide Comedy Short Film Festival Spring 2019 edition. The event was well attended and the audience was very appreciative of The Fabulous Life of Mr. Fabulous, when it was screened.” I also won “Best Actor” at the Berlin Underground Film Festival in Berlin and the movie has also been selected at the Audience Award LGBTQ Short film Festival. Working with such a great actor like Tyler Williams who played Mr. Bernardi was super fun and very inspiring (Tyler has subsequently worked on several other film and television productions including “MacGruber” 2008 with the cast of Saturday Night Live, and with the all-star comedy cast of “Paul” 2009). Tyler went on to do a recurring role on the CW’s series “Easy Money” as well as several guest starring and co-starring roles on networks such as USA and Vh1.)

Mr Fab has 10 nominations 2 award wins and it was truly a blessing to be able to write, co-produce and act in such a powerful project.

What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?

Mr. Fabulous had just recently been optioned to become a series. So to think that I had come this far, is just insane. I truly can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.

Who has been one of your favorite actors/filmmakers you have worked with so far and why?

For sure Vittoria Rizzardi Penalosa! Vittoria has had wins at all of these festivals (listed below) and she is such an inspiring young and established director. She was able to understand me and push my limits. Her artistry and commitment are just breathtaking and mesmerizing. It was just a blessing to be able to work alongside her.

What other projects do you have coming up?

The next big project I have coming up is a thriller that will be shot in Italy. It is so exciting because I never really had the chance to play with such a specific character and I always wanted to do it. Playing a narcissistic psychopath will be challenging but I’m sure it will be extremely rewarding and fun.

What is your best piece of advice for aspiring artists?

Never stop working on your craft and always do things that keep inspiring you. Our body and our minds are the tool to become great actors. I have a quote that I go by all the time which states. “A winner is only a dreamer who never stopped dreaming”.
