An Exclusicve Interview With Online Entrepreneur & Marketing Expert Pedro Pereira
1.Can you please tell us about you ?
I was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, and it’s where I currently live as well. I was a lawyer by trade before venturing into the online business world. I love traveling the world, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures and to discover new places. I also enjoy hanging out with my family (especially all the time I get to play with my 3 year-old daughter, it’s always great fun).
2.What about entrepreneurship attracted you?
Entrepreneurship has been like a seed inside me throughout my entire life. I became a lawyer, but the more I contacted with the real world, the more I realized that being a businessman opens new possibilities and new horizons. Moreover, according to all reports and projections, there are millions of jobs at risk in the next 10, 20 years with the rise of new softwares, new technologies and artificial intelligence. We can’t predict the future and what’s going to happen, but we can do something today about how are we getting ready for it. Entrepreneurship was always a hidden passion and a way for me to turn my life into an everyday exciting adventure!
3.How do you get your ideas and concepts for a business?
I think the most important thing is to listen to people, engaging with them, understanding their problems and from there, trying to offer some clever/simpler/cheaper/better solution for it. It is much easier if it’s something you know or are passionate about, though. I don’t know anything about gardening, so even if I listen for years a lot about gardening “problems”, it would be harder for me to come up with any innovative solution. You need to resonate with the subject somehow, but the most important aspect is to listen and truly understand people and what are they looking for.
4.How do you market your products and convince people they should get it?
I try not to convince people at all! It sounds like I’m trying to force people into something. Like I said, I try to understand the problems and to offer solutions. My job is to get people to look at what I’m offering in a simple and objective way. If they resonate with the root cause of the problem, they will get an answer for it in the form of product or service I may provide or endorse.
5.What was the first endeavor you did as an entrepreneur?
My first endeavor was to build my first website. I had no idea how to even start! Just had an idea and a passion. I knew nothing about building sites, marketing, lead generation, SEO, all the technical stuff. Remember, my background is Law, a completely different world! I had to study and to develop a lot of skills before I was able to create anything. It was difficult, but once I did, I was tremendously proud (even if looking back now I can say the website was terrible)!
6.What personality traits have helped you most in being a successful entrepreneur?
Without a doubt, perseverance! You have to believe in yourself, you have to believe you will succeed no matter what, and be ready to overcome the hurdles you will face, and they will come. If you put all your fears, negativism, objections and self-doubts behind you and keep moving forward, success will come eventually.
7.What has been your biggest failure as an entrepreneur and what did you learn from it?
My biggest failure has been trying to tap into some business models without sufficient knowledge to deliver real added value to people. If you’re just another one out there and you’re not able to stand out somehow, you will not get the results in direct proportion to of your effort. What I’ve learned was that more than any marketing strategies, SEO, and all the technical stuff, you have to be trustworthy and to provide real value to your audience. People know the difference between professionals and amateurs, scammers and honest.
8.What has been your biggest success as an entrepreneur?
Before I turned into a full time online entrepreneur, my biggest success was being able to create an innovative travel business from scratch, Travel Consulting Hub. I realized that just like a suit or a dress, people are looking more and more for customized travel services (business or leisure) designed around their specific needs. I understood the demand for such custom travel services and created a complete platform that I couldn’t imagine some years ago. That gave me the basic tools to understand the online world. Now I’m developing my own personal brand, I want to inspire others to achieve I was able to. If I could do it, so can anybody else.
9.What would you say is the key to your success?
There are numerous thoughts and quotes about success, but I’d say success is to chase and fulfill our predetermined goals with an infallibly determination. If you want something, go get it! Don’t just dream, act!
10.What would you say is unique about your current business?
That’s an easy one… me!!!! If you have the chance to visit my website at pedro-pereira.com you’ll see that I’m authentic, I’m real and transparent to my audience. My goal, like I said before, is to create a movement, to inspire people and lead by example. I want to show that if you dream to make a living online and have your own business, you can! I’m not looking to force people into anything, just pointing directions because you can pursue different business models.
11.What responsibilities do you have on a daily basis in your business?
On the technical side, is to monitor if everything is working! If it’s not working, you don’t exist anymore. Besides that, I’d say the biggest responsibility is to deliver real value to my audience consistently. Listen, engage, and be helpful to those who trust me.
12.Is there any specific educational path you recommend to follow to become an entrepreneur?
There are tons of information out there about how to start an online business, but most of them are useless. I think the most important aspect is to have an idea about what do you want, and get a mentor to help you every step of the way. There is no such thing as “get rich without spending time and money”, you have to give the best of yourself, work hard and stand out. To do that, you’ll need some technical tools (that you can learn to use or hire people to do it for you) and someone to guide you on your journey. I if had someone on my side saying what would be the next step, things would have been much easier.
13.If you had one piece of advice for an entrepreneur just starting out, what would it be?
Be determined and consistent. There will be difficult times where you will think about quitting, but if you really want this, focus on the reward(s) – and I’m not talking just about money, but rather the lifestyle – and make the most out of this journey! Commit, believe, work hard and be real.
14.WHAT IS THE FOUR PERCENT CHALLENGE?
The four percent challenge is a training platform the helps people how to succeed in life and teaches them how to use the necessary technical tools to implement your own online business strategy. At the same time, it’s also a challenge in the sense that while you’ll learning and doing daily tasks, you’re being guided in order to achieve certain income goals. Once you reach them, you’ll unlock the next level of the challenge. It’s such a comprehensive training platform that I became an official promotional partner, but don’t take my word for it! For just 1$ you can see for yourself here.
